Our company is the forebearer in Senior Move Management serving Rochester and Southern Minnesota. Details about the positions and our philosophy:

A Smooth Move hires both full and part-time positions.

Full-time positions are typically 32-40 hours per week, 7:30 A.M to 4:00 P.M for most days – some days will be shorter and others longer. We do not typically work nights, weekends or federal holidays.

Part-time positions are on-demand, as-needed, therefore, if you require a minimum number of hours or a regular schedule this may not be a good fit.  It is possible to go for a week without working during quiet periods. The majority of our move activities are two-day commitments, with the first day including packing typically from 8:00 A.M. until early to mid-afternoon.  The second day includes unpacking/resettling and starts mid to late morning and lasts until mid to late afternoon.  Each job varies in length, some short and some longer.

All positions require the person to have reliable transportation.

Positions we hire for:

  • Team Leader/Drivers:  are full and part-time individuals who oversee the loading, transporting and unloading of our client’s belongings. They have experience leading people, are good drivers and ensure our clients are taken care of in accordance with the company mission. Our Team Leaders are often “utility players” – able to be trained as Move Managers and often called to other tasks in support of the company’s mission.
  • Move Managers:  are part-time individuals who oversee the entire move team and all of the details of a client’s move.  They work directly with clients, meeting with them to describe our process and how we assist them with their particular needs.  They consult with clients and assist them with floor planning for their new residence and helping with sorting out items the client no longer needs. All Move Manager candidates start as Packers and are trained to lead the move team. The packing and unpacking is physical work and you are on your feet for the majority of the job-bending, stretching, reaching etc.   Some light lifting and carrying may be required. Move Managers are typically part-time positions.
  • Household Goods Movers:  assist with loading, transporting and unloading of our client’s belongings. They are friendly, enjoy learning new things, like being part of a team and are physically active. There is a path to promotion as many of our Movers promote to Team Leader/Drivers or Move Managers. Full and part-time positions are available.
  • Packers: assist with the sorting, packing, unpacking and organizing of our client’s home.  The packing and unpacking is physical work and you are on your feet for the majority of the job-bending, stretching, reaching etc. There is a path to promotion as Move Manager.  Some light lifting and carrying may be required. Packers are typically part-time positions.
