On average, our moves take 1-1½ days depending on whether or not our packing services are enlisted. Below is the process of a typical move, but your move may be customized depending on your needs:

1.

Consultation

Clients begin the moving process with our free consultation. During this consultation, we will discuss the needs, concerns, and plans for the move, as well as give a quote for the move. Consultations are free for local clients but are charged for out-of-area clients.

2.

Assessment and Downsizing

During a separate appointment, we take an assessment of the clients’ house and begin the downsizing process, which involves sorting items to keep, donate, or toss. We pride ourselves in being downsizing experts, taking care of details other movers may miss.

3.

Packing

Once sorting is complete, we pack up the “keep” items to put on the truck. Packing is finished the day before the move. This will be the last night the client spends at their old home before moving to the new one.

4.

Transportation and Unpacking

The next day, we carefully move all belongings into the new home. We blanket your new home’s doorways, stairways and carpets with protectors. We unpack and organize under client direction, even putting up curtains, wall hangings, and setting clocks. Once that is finished, we remove packing materials and trash from the new home. The goal is to have the client sleeping in their new location that night.

5.

Post-Move Clean-Up

We clean the old home in preparation for its new occupants. This includes donating/tossing discarded items and deep-cleaning the space so it’s ready for use. We consider ourselves downsizing experts and are skilled at assisting the moves of those in hoarder situations. Please see our Home Clean-Out service for more information.
